Heh. This seriously speaks to the kid in me. Just set up a new RVM installation on a desktop box, and got a laugh from Wayne’s greeting,

Be sure to get head often as rvm development happens fast,
you can do this by running 'rvm get head' followed by 'rvm reload'
    or opening a new shell

‘rvm get head’ followed by ‘rvm reload’? Really? Hmmm… So is there an implicit ‘rvm release’ going on in-between there? w00t indeed! :D

Yeah, sorry, I know – very corny. But it is Friday!

So I was wondering if I just lost my internet connection.

Opened up a new tab in Chrome and bashed the keyboard, resulting in the search results for “rherg”.

Kinda surprised there’s a Brazilian consulting firm called RHER-G. Huh.

But if that wasn’t enough, there’s a guy or girl on Facebook called Wsrgerg Rherg?

    Double-huh ;)

  • The Littlest Things

Watching the brilliant masterpiece that is Skyline (sarcasm alert), I just realized something about the oldest and most worn-out thrill teaser ever invented, the “car won’t start when boogey woogey is coming for you” type of routine. Or the “who would’ve known that this old rope was just going on its last couple of threads”.

The point of this type of tease, besides the obvious effect of increased suspense, is to show how attached to and dependent on the littlest everyday things we really are. To the point where it might cost us our lives when they fail.

A piece of wire being torn, a fume not being sparked, a rope giving up on its final use, it’s all about us living on top of a giant heap of trivial life dependencies. It’s a social commentary that tells us, “Just a fraction of us would live a month if everything man-made today fails.”

And that’s the really scary part. Not that the monster chasing you will get you when the ignition won’t do that thing it usually does.

How would you feed your family without supermarkets? Or, more aptly, how would you feed yourself without other people? ;)
